Whale Shark Sculptural Vessel – Black Clay Lidded Jar B23

This one-of-a-kind stoneware vessel combines functionality with sculptural artistry, making it a striking piece for both everyday use and display.

• Material & Process: Wheel-thrown from black stoneware clay, fired to 1245 °C / 2273 °F for strength and durability. The lid is freehand cut, and the whale shark’s tail is sculptured and attached with care.

• Design Details: Features a painted lava glaze with a decal design by me, accented with hand-painted dots for added texture and visual interest. The interior is fully glazed, while the exterior highlights a balance of bare clay, glaze, and subtle drips for a natural, tactile contrast.

• Capacity: Holds approximately 126 cubic inches – suitable for use as an urn for up to 126 lbs. body weight equivalent.
